Steve Baehr is the Worship Pastor at Temple Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia (templechurch.net). He is husband to one and father to two. He grew up in California where he studied under the tutelage of excellent pianists, organists, music theory professors, pastors, choir directors, coffee lovers, and organizational leaders.
Steve finds free information on the internet and uses it to his advantage. He reads constantly, a habit about which you should never ask him unless you want him to recommend a book to you. He intentionally probes the thoughts of a variety of authors and speakers including Timothy Keller, D. A. Carson, Bob Kauflin, C. S. Lewis, Andy Stanley, A. W. Tozer, and William Lane Craig.
Steve regularly arranges music for corporate worship, and has composed several original works for use in local churches where he has served. On a case by case basis, you may find him teaching music theory and fundamentals of musicianship. Though visual arts are not his passion, he has dabbled in photography, videography and graphic design. He builds websites, but only when he has to. Steve is currently writing a book about Christian worship which will not be available anytime soon.
